New Week... New experiences

Peter (Veitch) was reading my blog about having to tilt our bed and have gravity do the job of my old Oesophagus. He kindly offered me a trial of a foam wedge that he had purchased for Helen. We  dropped into his home earlier to pick it upto give it a trial run tonight so I am very excited. He also has an electric tilt bed (single) which has limited appeal as it sure would change the dynamics when sleep is not on the menu. Thanks Peter.

Given I am quite determined to optimise my chances of more sleep as the healing continues,  I am in the process of trialling whatever is out there to see how it goes.

Sylv and I did the 3.2km front gate this morning, and I must say I was puffing a hell of a lot getting up the last hill. Taking it real easy as too much exercise is not the go, so trying to pitch it right.

This afternoon was a quiet one and helping out on a few work things, nothing serious.

I spoke to Jeff who oversees patient progress and we chatted about all sorts. The reflux is revolting and needs managing. Dressings need checking so that's set for tomorrow. I got a better run down on how long it takes in most patients to start feeling normal again, and it is many weeks yet!!!

I also spoke to a friend/acquaintance about her identical operation 8 weeks ahead of me. Great feedback and it gave me a lot of reassurance.

Finally I touched base with my shrink who has been helping me get through this on an emotional level. Janine had been to USA and was now back home, some really useful  discussions.

So that is it for today.
