Go Jim...waiting for the sequel to The Castle

Ended up having a later night out than I thought with friends, so had a slower start to the morning. By the time I reached the hospital at 10am, the Anethatist had already been. All pain relief is now oral & Anthony was disconnected from the morphine pump. He seems to be tolerating swallowing the tablets ok.

Not long after I arrived, Piers and his accompanying Doctors (who were involved in the surgery) did his morning round & announced that the final chest drain was not going to be disconnected today. This was very disappointing  but with everything else now disconnected Anthony is quite mobile. Piers said that we could take a walk outside to the coffee shop & Anthony ordered his first latte. He thought he would also try some scrambled eggs which went down quite well.
Returned back to the HDU to Peter & Eloise looking for us. Lunch then arrived & it was time to eat again. It seems that food is delivered every hour or so, and this will be Anthony's new world, eating continuously very small serves. Watched the footy which was again very demoralizing when the girls arrived.

Hi, Anthony here again, sharing the load a bit...

Caught up with the Gen and Suz, great seeing them and actually having conversations with them.

Throughout the day it was quiet and I had to rest a bit. Last night I would have had a maximum of 2 hours sleep...the nights seem never to be my strong point. The only way I finally nodded off was by going for a walk around the floor at 3am, then watching a movie and making the decision not to sleep. Pounded the Jesus button to optimize pain relief and finally some rest.

Tonight after working with the Anethatist this morning, I hope we crack a formula. The pain will remain until this massive pipe in my chest cavity is removed. I have already hit the desired max of 100ml so anything could happen tomorrow, but it makes tomorrow's removal somewhat problematic for me. I keep advising the Doc's that it is because I move around so much!!

Nice steady flow of visitors and thanks everyone for checking in. Joe and Anne (Borrelli) dropped in, as did Sylvia"s brother, sister, partners and friends.

We were unaware Jim (Paczek, Sylvia's brother) has become a bit of a celebrity. He took on McDonalds in relation to building a new 24 hour store on Port Road. It's a story more akin to The Castle, Jim self represented and took on the giants and won the case!! Go Jim!

I ran out of puff, excused myself and went back to bed. We were out in the lounge area, there just is no room in the Ward. Sylv stayed for a while and now it is Sunday night and the to sign off.

People coming and going in F-Troupe ward and another neighbour has just arrived....busy place!

Thanks for reading this, I do hope this garden hose in my chest can go tomorrow!?

Anthony....
