Friday 21 days on....

Another week, and I've clocked up 3 weeks since the big op.

That is 21 nights. If you have ever experienced what I have been, that is a hell of a lot of pain killers, a lot of restless maneuvers and plenty of frustration.

Last night I had a crack at lying on my side...wow, I found a comfortable spot! BUT! It was less than 10 minutes and I rushed to the bathroom and spent the next 45 minutes heaving and dealing with the reality of keeping gravity working for me. I won't say any more, not nice.

So it was back to my back. The morning finally arrived and Friday began in earnest.

Today was busy. Apart from the morning breakfast ritual, it started with an interview by Karen Cross from The Advertiser doing a story tomorrow on Sylv, Gen and Suz. Should be interesting hopefully. Keep an eye out for it.

Then a couple of Footy mates, Nick H and Alex P called in to say G-day, Mum arrived to drop off a couple of goodies including a personally knitted beanie (thanks Mum) and amid all that, Marianne from RDNS arrived to change my bandages and dressings.

By now it was lunch time, and off for a hair cut. I was beginning to look extremely thin and very crook so I figured a hair cut was in order. I must say, it is amazing how much better I felt after that.

Afternoon snooze, and essentially it was time to head south to the Farm for the weekend.

Today all the finalists were advised for the REISA Awards, they will be announced publicly in the paper tomorrow. Given we are almost Hall of Famed out of the REISA competition, we did get 14 finalists which is staggering. Well done to the team. This is the first year I have personally had NO input into them proving to me that we sure do have some amazing talent in the business.

Rumors apparently have been starting to circulate that I am not coming back into the business. Typical competitive rubbish that always seems to happen in such a cut throat type of  industry, at least it is a welcome change from some of the old favorites.

My issue is proving to be staying away and taking it easy. I get restless, and at this stage it has been a wonderful distraction from the trauma of what I have and am going through. I find sitting around tough thanks to the difficulty in getting comfortable, it's not like I can lounge around of a couch and chill. Any sitting around is with careful placement and with great effort. I do hope that soon the pain will drop away, maybe then sitting around will be a more attractive option than work and moving around.

There has been so much going on at work too, some really exciting roll out of technology that I initiated months ago. I am so excited about it and want to be there to see it all come together.

The family have been amazing. No arguments yet, and now it has been months and we are all in the same space which is just terrific.

Sylv has been in training to be a nurse, doing a great job when I have needed it, and she is still holding up well.

So it's Friday, and I am so looking forward to some heat and some sun. First day of Spring tomorrow, I'm so ready for it.
