After arriving at 7am as instructed, Sylvia and I saw plenty of the Olympics on the TV in the waiting room, and finally I said to Sylv to head off as she had the weekly sales meeting to go to.
Although it was a very, very long wait, somehow I have become way more relaxed. I would have been pacing after an hour and a half wait only a few months ago. I finally headed in to the theatre area around 9.30am with the endoscope around 10am. After recovery, and the customary nice sandwich, it was pretty much lunch time. Suzannah came to pick me up which was great. They don't like you wandering off alone after these procedures, and there is no alcohol allowed.
The report was all positive - the tumour has reduced by around 95% and the radio and chemo has done all we could have asked, so this is really great news for me, very happy.
The rest of the day was a bit of work stuff, taking it easy and some exercise.
I have stepped up my sessions with Janine as we count down to the 10th and am feeling confident in my preparation for the next challenge. I am focused on dealing with any possible fears and ensuring that I am prepared mentally for what lies ahead. I have always had phobias about things around my face, and I am going to have all sorts of tubes and things around my face when I come out of surgery... Mmmm.
Tonight we caught up with our old neighbours (the Ashes) and David (Cheney) and Stella. As you would expect, we talked about what was ahead, an early night but really nice to catch up.
I am writing this in the car on the way up to the farm so apologies for extra big errors and mistakes, but the show must go on. Got to love pre-emtive text, you never know what you are going to get. No glasses so I can barely read it anyway. The lovely Tanja will sort it all tomorrow... (All sorted - Tanja :) )
Xxx
PS. More jokes soon, not tonight.
