Fattening up...
Last night was the 100th anniversary Commonwealth Bank gig was really well done but Sylvia and I left straight after the official stuff was done. It was held at Melbourne Pavilion, corner of Racecourse and Stubbs Road, Kensington in an old warehouse type building, very groovy and so unexpected.
The only downside is that we had the coldest seats in the place and backed on to a massive draft...thank goodness I was so over the top dressed up with coat, scarf, thermals and so on, and none of them came off all night.
Great bunch of people. Had a good chat to our guys from Adelaide, and was lucky enough to catch up with Ian Narev for around 15 minutes before the proceedings started. Now there is an amazing individual.
We left around 10.15pm and the trip back was quick.
Slept right through till around 9.30am, Graeme and Karen were well gone by then and Sylvia and I just took it real easy.
We had breakfast, did a few emails, spoke to Mum, found out my eldest brother Den was having an operation for a kidney stone tonight at Calvary!!! The Toop's are showing great support for Hotel Calvary. Good luck Den.
Around lunchtime we walked Toorak Road and had lunch at Pinocchio's. Sylvia went shopping and I walked back and slept all afternoon.
Tonight I have a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts that was my present from Karen , with a card titled "Welcome to the fat farm". If that wasn't bad enough, caution was thrown to the wind with take away pizza, pure nutrition!! To be truthful, it has been some light relief.
How is it all going? Weird. I am really feeling the cold and am now off all pain relief. This morning was time to renew my pain relief patch which lasts 3 days. The last patch was half the strength of the previous one, and now I have gone all day with no pain relief at all. I must say, it is hard to explain but there is some adjustments going on. Hopefully I will start feeling "normal" again soon. My ability to regulate my body temperature seems to be returning, but as all the drugs are slowly being purged it feels just odd. I did need some top up relief at 3am last night but we are just taking it as it comes right now.
Sleeping is not easy and my mind is getting busy again yet I just feel like sleeping non stop...work that out. Exercise seems so important to me; yesterday was my fist day for ages back on the machines but today was a long walk into Toorak and back.
Tomorrow evening the girls arrive and we will spend the weekend catching up on things away from home in a micro mini get away holiday.
Sylvia is out with Karen and the girls tonight, some Adelaide girls amongst them, I am sitting with Graeme having had pizza and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, a few sips of wine in front of the gas fire watching The Footy Show. Very relaxed.
Now are you ready for some more of Looch's jokes?? Here we go...
I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked,
'Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?'
To which I replied, 'If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?'
He smiled knowingly and nodded, 'That's why we ask.'
Mmmm...is that why it is now self check-in?
And more...

We need not be afraid to touch, to feel, to show emotion.
The easiest thing in the world is to be what you are,
what you feel.
The hardest thing to be is what other people want you to be.
