Don't you love Fridays!?
I am sitting in The Haus in Hahndorf after having had a very full day, and feeling almost normal. Oh what a feeling.
Sylvia is 20 minutes behind me, so I have walked in, ordered and sat down; so keen to get back to the farm after a week in the 'big smoke.' Decided to celebrate with some junk food tonight, see if it goes down ok. I am feeling confident.
The chemo has definitely peaked, and the radiotherapy is 5 treatments away (1 week) from giving me grief. This is my time, the calm before the next storm. Apart from the nights, the days have been so much better this week, especially the past few days. Last night was a shocker, but got the big guns in pain relief out and they actually worked.
Today being the 8th - my lucky number - I took delivery of Black Beauty, I am so excited. I know given how tough the market is at the moment, it feels a little indulgent, but what the hell, at the moment with what is going down, life is about some pleasures and in the end, the changeover was pretty good. I want to give Solitaire a plug, they were extremely professional and an absolute pleasure to deal with. I actually walked straight past my car this afternoon when I went to collect it; it was in the show room, it was so shiny I thought it was the new one and asked the guys where my "new second hand" baby was...it was that one. Sound dumb, bad luck, that is exactly what happened.
Had an hour lesson on how to drive it, paired the iPhone, then I was happy to head off.
Did some work today, pacing it but all good. Things have been pretty hard on the sales guys all over Australia and we are all feeling it, hopefully the recent rate drops will start to kick in. Given the amount of money people are sitting on, when this market finally breaks it should be with some gusto. Big question is when? Still think buying cars, buying houses, buying any big ticket item is best done when things are quiet.
Gen and Suz are having a baptism of fire at the office, some big projects landed in their laps. I think they are enjoying it, I hope the team get to know them quickly, especially Suz as she is home to help out wherever she can and of course is home to help me. Gen has a couple of big launches to drive across the line in the next few weeks, and Sylv is now having sleepless nights thinking about work - welcome to the GM role Sylv!
What a wonderful way to go into a long weekend, no treatments for 3 DAYS!!!!!
This morning was full on with radiotherapy, naturopath, and I caught up with Nicole's sister who is a clinical psycologist - she was great. Ate more Anzac biscuits, had a couple of café lattes, even sipped a red wine, had cheese and biscuits, all went down ok.
Sylv has arrived, time to sign off....I hope everyone has an awesome and safe long weekend.
