Special Friday...

Special Friday....We live in a beautiful world...

It's 9.43pm, just arrived at the farm. I had to come down tonight, something so special about completeing round one of my treatment and finishing it. I feel so released from my 5 weeks of daily treatments tonight.

Sure I may not feel better physically, but I sure feel free!! That is such an amazing feeling. Never thought of the treatments as being so entrapping...isn't it odd. Tonight I just feel SO FREE.

So in the first second inside the house tonight... airconditioner cranked up, in the second minute the combustion heater loaded and lit. Third minute the filter on the Airconditioning needed cleaning...so out with the vacuum cleaner. Pays to be an old sparky occasionally. Anything to increase the heat load, it is a tad cold right now, and we are still pre carbon tax!!!!

How bad are our Federal Government....must be feeling better.

Anyway, today was HUGE!!

As I said yesterday, final day of radiotherapy and Chemo today, from here it is recovery, get fit and then under the knife. Winner takes all basically.

I am too cold sitting here typing this so what say we give you an update over the weekend and include a few highlights of today.

One thing EVERYONE must know, it is Theresa's (O'Connell) birthday today!!!! How's this, Teresa brings me a gift on her birthday, a Bently Flag she had sent in from the States, arrived today, to celebrate the last day of MY treatment. I will never be that good.

As I mentioned, Mum rallied to help today as Sylvia, Gen and Suz had work duties...

I was very spoilt, they sent me an amazing surprise at the BH Oncology Unit, huge box with editable flowers...we all had a feast. Clearly others knew about this but it was such a beautiful and complete surprise for the end of the day.

I took some pics today, and maybe Tanja can stick them on for me at some time, it was quite an emotional day.

All my Nurses, all the patients that we kept bumping into, and the staff, it really is a family out there in Cancer land. Quite incredible.

Lots of emotions, pretty much all good and heart felt. Lots of cheers and good wishes too for today...what a wonderful world we live in.

Off to jump into bed...thank goodness for our Chinese purchase of silk covers, they get real warm, real quick and especially given Sylv  is not there to help either!!!

AT xx

PS it is bucketing down up here, and this is the best place on earth to listen to heavy rain on a tin roof, clearly a country boy.

Here are some pics from today...

Teresa and me with the cool Bently flag she got me...thanks Teresa!

Time to lose the PICC line, and my bottle...minutes from freedom...Nurse J in arm!

Final hours of round one, PICC line, Chemo bottle and sitting on radiotherapy table about to be zapped, all done!!
Mum shares the moment, and what a total surprise, eatable flowers from my beautiful girls. Magic moments.
