Early start, left a few minutes late from the Farm to make the Radiology appointment at 8am...underestimated how long it takes to get going with the right pills and powders at the right time. Got away and had a good run into town, and rang through to say we would be around 10 minutes late, nothing like rushing to get sizzled.
The appointment was at South Terrace this time, and once again, the staff and nurses are simply wonderful, time we started head hunting these people I reckon!
Left after around 20 minutes and the next appointment was at 10am with Oncologist at BH. I had plenty to ask about with my chesty cough and with all the lovely things that start to kick in after Chemo, like sore mouth, furry tongue, ringing ears, upset tummy just to mention the most obvious. All side effects promised, and now being delivered!
More scripts...but all good.
I had a few things that needed doing and headed off after the meeting but by about 2pm I just went to bed. Slept for a couple of hours and then felt so odd that I figured I needed to do some exercise. I have to say, as much as I didn't feel like it, exercise is really proving a god send. Not hard stuff, just 30 minutes on the bike and I was sweating like a pig (do pigs really sweat? mmm!) Exercise in moderation keeps the body moving and blood circulating.
Sylvia and the girls got home quite late, and we had a great home cooked chicken and all caught up on the first day at work for Gen and Suz. Tom (Gen's partner) joined us and he starts his new job working on the Adelaide Oval project TOMORROW!! How awesome that Tom walked straight into this really sensational position, I am so relieved as their coming home four months early has meant this opportunity has come up.
I hope all the team at work are getting a chance to catch up with Gen and Suz, and after a few weeks with any luck, we will all be in the groove and rocking and rolling at work. Tough time for lots of people with what's happening around the world but the good news is, interests rates may drop again tomorrow. How good would that be!
After having a good chat with Tabitha today (my Oncologist), my Chemo effects peak around Thursday, so it is still building in the system...and her advice was excellent, take each day at a time, don't project out and process ahead of the current day, and take each day as just another day. I couldn't help thinking that advice like that would be spot on for real estate agents at the moment. One phone call at a time, one meeting at a time, one deal at a time, and this is not the time to over process things. Just keep doing what everyone knows will ultimately get the job done.
I like that advice...that approach doesn't come naturally but this is a serious learning curve.
Tomorrow is another day, we need to make it count.
