Short blog today as we are all heading to HQ, our new central family home for at least until the end of the year before Suz goes back to Sydney next year.
The Girls should be arriving any minute by car from Sydney, they have been driving all day. Sylvia and I are almost there as well, after doing my third Radiotherapy session we visited Sylvia's mum at Woodville. Currently heading back though town, Sylvia obviously driving!!
Off to dinner tonight as a family, at our new favourite Japanese Restaurant Kenji on Hutt Street. Taste buds still OK, but getting suss. Hints of nausea and some wierd stuff starting as promised in our briefings...we are all so different yet all the same.
Met with Radiotherapist Specialist today, checked in and so far so good. The fun starts around the 15th session, the Chemo is the biggy right now. Next week I am assured is likely to be my baptism of fire of life with cancer treatment.
Funny really, I found myself trading cancer stories with Sylvia's mum, I am a contributor these days. Anna is currently on Chemo as well with a lung cancer secondary. See, even getting the jargon. Caught up briefly with Sylvia's brother Jim delivering cordial to Anna, he is checking some acid pains now...I think he looks just fine.
The other wierd thing is that everything on TV, radio and in the paper now seems to be on cancer, clearly we observe what is affecting our world at any given time. Think I'll crank up Sons of Anarchy and stop reading papers, watching TV commercials or listening to radio...nup, all good.
Well minutes from home, time to post. Thanks so much to all of you have been sending me good vibes and messages, I haven't got back to many but I really, really appreciate all of it, THANKYOU.
Family time, yahh whooo.
Sons of Anarchy can be very addictive but no doubt the perfect distraction given your interest in the subject matter - lol. It won't be too long and you'll be itching to get back on the bike - something to look forward to for sure. Maybe you can change your name to Jax but you will need to get a bigger tattoo :) Thinking of you xx
