Work Day....
Mmmm, what's happening? I basically worked a full day today, and tonight I am feeling OK but very aware this may be dumb.
It is funny how we can over process many things in life rather than just going with the flow and living in the moment.
Trying to juggle how much food to eat is some challenge, and of course what to eat. Tonight I had dinner - think I either over did it or ate the wrong stuff. It is hard to explain, this feeling of food in your throat, but then again it may be my imagination too. Either way it has been uncomfortable, so I grabbed Mia's lead and off we both went for a walk around the block.
My lack of any pain killers all day is paying me back right now; chest is as tight as a drum, and it is after 8pm and the pain of my ribs - like clockwork - start to kick in, just to ensure sleep is not too easy.
So the night ritual begins. Injection of Clexaine (for the blood clot), no food for 4 to 5 hours before bed, no fluid 2 hours before and so on.
Tomorrow Sylvia flys out to the Gold Coast for a corporate gig (business class and all), while I will have to cope with Suz, poor us. Gen is OS, Sylv sunning it in QLD, while we are holding the fort and keeping the home fires burning. Good on them, corporate gigs are overrated anyway.
I'll just jump in Black Beauty and smell the leather, start the engine and soak up my special time with myself....sook sook sook.
Work is getting a bit exciting. Irrespective of all that is happening, I can't help feeling that people are tired of doing nothing, and I think spring could be busy. Whatever happens, we are doing such cool things at the moment that we are keeping ourselves amused, and my mind off of being sick.
I can't wait until we hit 6 weeks, with the promise that ribs take 6 weeks to heal. I'll have my own story very soon as we hit 5 weeks since the op...how exciting.
That's it folks.
PS. Happy birthday Phil Stacy !!

ReplyDeleteHi Toopie,
ReplyDeleteDebbie and I read every blog that you write and follow the journey with you.
We took the option to receive it by email which, while convenient, is a "no reply" message and so I read it but fail to comment. So now I have returned to the Blog page and here I am. Keep going with your daily posts when possible knowing that they are read. Glad to hear of the progress albeit with some difficult challenges along the way.
We will be back in Adelaide from 18th to 30th. Will catch up then.
Best,
Litchy
