So Excited...

Sunday 14th October update...

Another big week with the highlight being Suz's decision to stay home in Adelaide and although sad, Suz officially notified AMP Capital that she is not retuning next year as was planned. I am ecstatic, and I  want to publicly applaud AMP Capital for the way they have treated our family through all of this.

The opportunity for Suz arose this week as 5 of the team attended a real estate principals'  leadership conference in Sydney. I was a keynote speaker and part of the fee was to have 5 registrations at the conference, Suz was able to personally see her bosses and resign in person, and properly.

After fronting last week for the Auctioneer judging, and now having flown to Sydney and speaking, my confidence to return to work has improved to the point that the time is right. The paper Saturday carried the story about Suz and me, and as said in the article, Tuesday week I will be heading back into work.

I imagine I will start with half days and build up according to how I am feeling at the time and as we go. I am excited about getting back into work and to get some regularity and routine going.

This week I have been doing manual work at the vineyard, but I have to start from scratch with fitness and strength. I am so weak it is a bit embarrassing. My ribs are very sore right now, they have had a work out today.

We are fixing the road into the vineyard which is a big job, but over due and exciting. I have a personal mission to sort out the Vegetable Garden, and I have stripped everything out and am rebuilding it. I hope to get it close enough for planting before returning to work or we will miss this season.

Today I had the girls and their partners help in mixing concrete and moving retaining wall sections...it was just magic out in the garden today. I am feeling totally spent tonight but in a good way.

After finishing the concreting it was time for R&R and we had the whole family together for a home cooked pizza and a hit of tennis. Glenn and Ali dropped in on their way home from Fino's in Willunga and then we went to our vineyard managers' for dinner. What a wonderful week and weekend.

This coming week is the Variety V2Classic weekend where the classic bikes are taken out of mothballs and start the season with a four day motor bike bash. Always fantastic, and NO....I will not be riding this year. I will be driving as I have permission to take Black Beauty. Four days on a bike I definitely am not up for just yet. We leave Thursday, back home Sunday, and will raise lots of money for our sick kids.

Sylvia seems to be holding up well, Girls are settling into T&T business well and I am SO EXCITED about the help Sylv and I will get in the business. Things have turned around big time at work and our changes are beginning to pay off.

Sydney highlighted that we certainly are well regarded by realtors from around the country. There has been serious numbers drop out of the real estate industry over the past two years, yet others have adapted and are just getting on with things. We have made the changes and are all fired up again.

On the weight front, alas, I remain at 66.3kg this morning. So the free fall in weight has stabilised BUT despite me eating sooooo much, I can not put any weight on at present. Food is just sailing through my system, this has become my primary issue right now. I am assured it will sort itself out but it may take a while.

So one week to go and it is back to the real world, and not a bad place to be!!!

First auctions coming up...it is all happening.
